AKVIS Frame Suite

AKVIS Frame Suite lets photographs to be given an original and festive look whether you wanted to create a postcard for friends, make a holiday album, or a personalized desktop wallpaper. 12 groups of effects are available built-in in the library.

Pros: Though AKVIS Frame Suite is supposedly for frames, it also includes adding of effects to the full photographs to add a dimension of uniqueness to the collection. These photos then could be used for making a unique wall paper or a holiday post card to friends or a nice album. It could even be for just playing with the photos and try out your creative urges.

The well organized user interface lets you see the effects before and after, which is really helpful. Particularly as you could set several parameters for each of the effects, hence one needs to see the effects to arrive at an optimal solution.

It is the edge effect as a group creates the frames effect. Wood carvings with designs on them or just some flowers or even frogs repeated along the border could be handled. Customizing the library frames is easy, Color, form, style, brightness and the intensity of the applied frame can all be chosen. Frames with ragged edges, a scratched surface or a page curl can all be frames that can be applied. Any rectangular pattern saved as a graphic file could be used as a frame.

To give the photographs an effect of having been drawn on a canvas or a brick wall or corrugated paper is easy by applying texture from the built in library or a custom set created by the user.

AKVIS Frame suite is also available as a plug in to a photo editor. Adobe photoshop, Photoshop elements and paint shop pro are some of the editors this plug in works with.

* Edge Effects let you generate a photo frame for your photo. Add elegance and style to your image by putting it into a classic frame with wood carving or create a funny picture by adding it some cheerful frogs along the border.
Photo frames samples that come with Frame Suite can be easily tailored to your particular photo. Select a color for the frame; choose its form, its style, brightness, and the intensity of the applied edge effect. You can create a frame with ragged edges, scratched surface, a page curl, etc. It can be a wooden frame with figured carving or a frame with an ornament. If you enjoy working with layers, you will appreciate the possibility to apply a transparent frame, so that the lower layer(s) could serve as background.
Create your own unique frames! Save a square or rectangular pattern as a graphic file and use it to generate an original photo frame. The result can be astounding!
* The Texture effect allows applying a texture (chosen from the built-in Texture Library or one created by the user) to an image so that the image looks like drawn on a canvas, brick wall, corrugated paper, etc.
It is planned to enrich the effects collection with new ones.
The program is available in two versions - as an independent program (standalone) and as a plug-in to a photo editor. The plug-in version is compatible with Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Paint Shop Pro etc.
